Please review the following learning options available for the 2020-2021 school year.

PASD Learning Options


In-School Instruction

• 6 ft social distancing
• Students and staff required to wear masks
• An alternating A/B day schedule that provides classroom instruction with the homeroom/content teachers on one day, and synchronous virtual learning at home on the other day
• K-5 students have the option to be in-school everyday Students provided with breaks throughout the day
• Transportation available

• District-loaned technology provided, if needed
• Special education and specialized services provided, if applicable

• Students engage in synchronous virtual learning from home with real-time instruction and support from a PASD teacher

Virtual Learning Centers

Virtual Learning Centers are available to students in grades 2-5. These Centers will provide students an option for in-person learning, even on their alternating “days off” from instruction with their homeroom teachers.  If you decide to have your child participate in Virtual Learning Centers, he/she will be at school each and every day! 
  
BK learning centerHow will students be assigned to the virtual learning centers? 
Students will be placed with children from the same grade level, providing socialization with same-age peers. 

What is the establish staff to student ratio for the virtual learning centers?
Staff-student ratio of 1:25 will be maintained in grades 2-3; 1:30 in grades 4-5. 

Will students be in the virtual learning center for the entire day?  
Special area teachers will be providing movement breaks and special area mini-lessons in the Virtual Learning Center spaces and outside. This will provide students with fun opportunities for extra-curricular learning and brain breaks! 

What type of assistance will be provided for students working online in the virtual learning centers?
Students will have help with their online learning, thanks to the staff present who will help facilitate.    

learning centerWill students need to bring their own laptops/devices with them to the virtual learning centers?  
Students will have access to their district-loaned computers in the Virtual Learning Centers, or will bring their own computers with them each day. Technology support will be available as needed. 



PASD Facilities Phased Reopening for Community
The District tennis courts and track are now open for community use when not being used by students. Mandatory social distancing must be observed between non-family members.  Masks are required in situations where social distancing from non-family members is not possible.  Tennis courts will close at dusk.  Lights will not be turned on.
