PAHS Theater Guild presents Radium GirlsPhoenixville Area High School’s Theatre Guild is pleased to announce this year’s fall play, RADIUM GIRLS by D.W. Gregory.  Based on a true story, the scene is the early 20th century: flappers, progress, miracles of science. The girls who paint the glowing numbers on watch faces, the patriarchal bosses who oversee this business on the leading edge of science, the doctors who promise these young workers that the radium-based paint is safe, all track a luminous dust into their homes.  When the girls at the plant start becoming seriously ill and dying, the play takes us into the homes, hearts, and minds of the characters involved.

The play’s deftly braided narrative tells a story larger than any of the characters; a story exploring the issues of class and corporate responsibility when science, profit and morality collide.  The ethical responsibility within companies and the moral consequences of the cost of their success makes the story set in America’s economic ascendancy more relevant than ever in our times.

The play runs from Friday to Sunday, November 17th to 19th in the PAHS Auditorium.  Evening performances are at 7:00 pm and the Sunday matinee is at 2:00 pm.  Tickets will be available at or at the door for $7.00 for students and $10.00 for adults.
