We understand that equity is not an initiative; it is through our efforts with implementing thoughtful, sustained initiatives that we work diligently in the pursuit of equity. Take a look at some of our district initiatives.


• Staffing:
» Created Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Leader position
» Created Student Academic and Resiliency Advisor position created
» Created a second Home and School Visitor/Social Worker position
» Created a District Wellness position
» Created four instructional coach positions 

• District and Building Equity Teams 
• Delaware Valley Consortium for Equity in Education (DVCEE) district partnership since 2016  
• Review and update of district policies to eliminate inappropriate policies, procedures, and practices that may create negative outcomes for some of our students.   
• Truancy Prevention Grant through Children, Youth, and Family (CYF) 
• Strong commitment to “Least Restrictive Environment” for all students
• Technology for All – every student has access to a laptop and hotspot if needed 
• Translation and Interpretation Services  
• Curriculum Focus on Differentiation and Providing Access to Grade Level Instruction 
• Redesign of Social Studies curriculum to ensure there is a focus on social justice at all levels, and the inclusion of identity, diversity, justice, and action standards in English Language Arts Curriculum 
• Full-day Kindergarten for all students
• 4-day kindergarten camp held in the summer of 2021, which, although optional, affords 83% of incoming kindergartners the chance to acclimate to the building and staff, and receive foundational instruction prior to the start of the school year. 
• In 2021, we offered a full-day, six-week summer STEM camp through a partnership with Young Men and Women in Charge. Camp costs were covered by the District so that any students who wanted to attend were able to do so for free!
• In addition to weekend food backpacks for food-insecure students, all students were provided with free breakfast and lunch during the 2020-2021 and 2021-2022 school year.
