Phoenixville Area School District, Chester County, Pennsylvania, solicits sealed bids for a General, Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing  Contract for the following project:

Life Skills Addition and Renovation 
33 W. Pothouse Road, Phoenixville, PA
The Phoenixville Area School District is holding a mandatory pre-bid meeting for and at the addition and renovation project of 33 W. Pothouse Road, Phoenixville, PA on January 4, 2019 at 2:00 PM.  Bidding requirements and packets are available on December 13, 2018 at Phoenixville Area School District Administration Office, 386 City Line Avenue, Phoenixville PA Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM through 4:00 PM .  They are available below or via email with requests being sent to gibsonk@pasd.comFaxed bids will not be accepted. A $50.00 non-refundable fee made payable to Phoenixville Area School District is required for a Paper copy of the Bid Documents.  Electronic copies will be free of charge.  All substitution requests must be submitted to the Owner\Engineer at least five (5) days prior to receipt of bids.  All construction site visits are by appointment only.  Please call Ken Gibson at (484) 927-5096 with any questions. Please note that ALL bids must be delivered in a sealed envelope and addressed to Mr. Kenneth Gibson, and must be clearly marked on the outside with bidder’s name and name of project bid. Submission deadline is 2:30 PM, prevailing time, Friday, January 11, 2019 when a formal bid opening will be held in the Phoenixville Area School District Board Room, located at 386 City Line Avenue, Phoenixville, PA 19460.  Bids will be publicly opened and read aloud after the specific closing time.  Please note that no award of the contract will be made at the bid opening.

Sealed bids shall be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond in the amount of ten percent (10) of the amount of the bid, made payable to Phoenixville Area School District.  Checks or bonds will be returned to unsuccessful bidders after the contract has been awarded, or the bids rejected.  The successful bidder’s check or bond will be returned when his contract has been properly completed. In case the successful bidder fails to enter into contract within ten (10) days after notification of acceptance of bid, said check or bond shall be forfeited to the District.  All bids must be accompanied by Non-Collusion Affidavit, Contractor’s Qualification Statement, and Bid Security in accordance with the Bid Documents.  Bids must remain in force for sixty (60) days after the date of the bid opening, and may be rejected any time prior to the expiration of said date. 

The successful bidder will be required to furnish a Performance and Payment Bond in amounts equal to 100% of the contract price.  Surety shall be satisfactory to the School District, and shall be included in the contractor’s bid amount. 

This is a Pennsylvania Prevailing wage rate project. The Building Contract shall be awarded by the end of the workday on Friday, January 18, 2019.  Work must begin no later than 10 days following contract award.  Construction must be substantially complete by June 30, 2019. 

The School District reserves the right to accept or reject any or all Bids and to make or not make awards in their best interest.
